DGA & Atos – Auxylium Project
App Scan / Enterprise Solutions
During the Auxylium project for the Army, the autonomy of the device fell to 3 hours! Developers do not have the tools to identify the cause of the problem among the hundreds of thousands of lines of code. The DGA was to replace the individual “field” communication equipment of the deployed armed forces. After choosing the hardware, the DGA also had to develop and install the new software in native Android linked to these new needs on this hardware (“hardened” tablet). ATOS was chosen as prime contractor for this project.
Choose well to control costs
The choice of a smartphone model is crucial for the quality of the service, but also for the lifespan – therefore the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the fleet.
The autonomy must be sufficient to support a day of use, with a safety margin to respond to the vagaries of the field;
And this now, but also in 500 discharge cycles, when the battery has lost about 30% of its initial capacity.
In the end, the gains from all the corrections led to a gain of 8 hours of autonomy on the basis of the preponderant use tests.
